You can create a new Project Material List, or you can curate Master List(s) by clicking on the “New Project” button. A Master List is meant to be a “source of truth” that can be copied from project to project, creating a consistent baseline across all projects. Some firms create one Master List of all preferred products and other firms create multiple Master Lists by project type (K-12, higher ed, corporate, retail) by design scope (interiors, site/landscape, structure) or by client. You can invite internal or external team members to either Master Lists or Projects, but you can protect Master Lists by making them “read only”. People can still copy from Masters to their project (then edit), but not change the Master itself! All lists are invitation-only, with permissions for each person except for public Crowdsource Lists.
- CLICK “NEW”: Click the button, and the Project Settings window will open.
- TYPE IN PROJECT DETAILS: Follow your company’s protocols for creating names (you can use project numbers, names or a mix). For NDA/Private projects, you can always use a code, a number or an alias (those can also be set to ‘private’ so they are not visible internally beyond allowed team).
- Adding users: you can invite internal or external team members to a project or Master List that was already created. Permissions for Edit or View Only are set here also.
- CLICK TO ADD A PICTURE: Click the “Set Image” button to add a picture from your files to your project card.
- SET VISIBILITY: This sets who can see this Project’s Material List. There are 3 options, explained on the next page.
- CLICK “CREATE”: When you have filled in your details, the “Create” button will turn blue and you click it. You can make changes or invite additional people at any time by opening the project and clicking on the gear icon in the top right.
NOTE: A more robust Project Center is coming soon which will let you add more content about the client, the project team, rating systems being pursued, construction timeline, documents you want to post or link to and more.
