The Product Detail Page (PDP) has two key elements; the product details including all certifications and the workflow section. The descriptions below focus on the product details and certifications and the next section focuses on the workflow section. As always, certifications update automatically straight from the source and are always current. When a certification has expired, we do maintain its visibility but clearly mark it as expired. In the catalog you can always hide all expired certifications when searching.

CERTIFICATIONS SECTIONS: Above shows you the collapsed view of each section: Certification logos, Product Details and Sustainability. A detailed, open view is below.
1.) BADGES & CERTIFICATION SUMMARY: Above you see the certification “badges” (logos for HPD, EPD, C2C and Declare). If you click on the badges, window #1 below opens and shows the certifications in a collapsed view. You can open all of the collapsed sections at once or open one at a time. The image on the right hand side shows you what you would see if you opened all at once (we had to cut off the Declare CAS numbers in this screenshot as there are a very long list!).
Some products have no certifications (our catalog is inclusive of every product), some may have only one and others, like this example, have many. You can see from the image below items that are RED and others that are GREEN. These quickly and clearly show you what’s expired and what’s not, at-a-glance. You also see links to the original certifications. As you can see, all the information you need is visible in a single view – no need to bounce out to the other websites to get this information, but you can easily click on those links if you want to!
You’ll also notice in the right hand image, that in the second section down (EPDs), we have gathered ALL 53 EPDs associated with this product and you can simply click through each one, within the same view, to see which GWP # corresponds with which version of the product (in this case, face fiber weight). This is one way BE strives to improve the industry’s data for your use!
2.) PRODUCT DETAILS: This information only appears when we get the manufacturer’s data directly, to link to certifications. We are asking for all design information (lines, colors, patterns, etc) so that you can see everything you need to make a decision in one place!
3.) SUSTAINABILITY: There may be some overlap in this section with what you see when you click on the certification logos above, but this is where you will also find (if provided by the manufacturer) their corporate sustainability commitments (JUST or B-Corp certifications), take back program information and other non-product specific sustainability info. This is also where you can find certifications that we do not yet have connected digitally, such as Singapore Green. Each of these has a link to its original certification at the source also.

NOTE: In the short term, not all certifications will be merged in a single view. If the manufacturer has sent us their product data, we can easily merge all certifications connected with products as shown below. If we have not yet gotten their data, you may see duplicate “products” in the catalog. Certifications are not actually products and each one defines product differently, which makes this a problem for everyone. So you may see one entry for an EPD, another for an HPD, C2C certification, etc. but because of no standard data structure, they don’t “merge” automatically. We are resolving this also over the summer. The good news is that as we fix this, it will automatically “backwards-merge” info so that this data merges into all products you have put in your Project’s Material Lists. Also:
- When a project is closed / archived, it retains the historical status of certifications that were relevant at that time.
- We are continuing to add 3rd party certifications all the time, including international ones.
