Visibility determines who can see a Project’s Material List in your company’s Project Library. This is set when a new project is created but can be updated or changed at any time.
When you invite internal or external team members to a project, you also set their individual permissions to edit or view only, but that is just for their relationship to a specific Project’s Material List and separate from the visibility of a Material List within your company’s Library.
- CLICK VISIBILITY: Click to arrow next to the Visibility button to see the 3 options to choose from.
- CLICK TO EDIT: Scroll down the list and select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.

PRIVATE: Only invited users can view. This means that no one in your organization can even see this list in their library, unless they are ‘invited’ to it. This is great for the curation of Master Lists (before they have been finalized and should not be seen by anyone who isn’t helping to create them) and also for NDA projects that stipulate that only staff directly working on the project is authorized to see it. NDA projects can be listed with code names or numbers also if you want to be sure they can’t be identified.
ORGANIZATION: Any user in your organization can view. This means that the Material List is visible in your Library to everyone in your company. They can see the Material List, clone it or copy items from it but they can not edit it unless they are invited with editing permission. Any external team member who is invited to this Project’s Material List will be able to see it in their own company’s library but will not be able to see any other of your Material Lists.
ALL ORGANIZATIONS: Any user in any Organization can view. This is public to ALL BuildingEase users. This is for public Crowdsource lists, which anyone can create for a topic they care about then all users can contribute to or copy from – to their Projects! These will show up in your library.
