The Organization Details section is only visible to your company’s employees. Even if you invite external collaborators to a Material List, they will not see this information. There are two sections of information here, Reference and Notes. To edit any of these fields, you must click the “Edit” button first. Then:
- REFERENCE: These fields allow you to track products based on your internally set codes and categories.
- Keynote: These are your firm’s keynotes.
- Product Code: These are your firm’s assigned codes.
- Product Category: These are your firm’s assigned categories (which are likely different from ours, called “Product Type”).
- NOTES: Notice that there are two different Notes sections – one here, shown below, which is ONLY visible to your company and one that you will see on the next page, in the Project section where external collaborators can also see the Note. The Notes here stay “stuck” to the product so that anyone in your firm who opens the Product Detail Page (PDP) will see the Note.
- This is your knowledge management or lessons learned opportunity. If there is something about this product that you want everyone to know, this is the place to put it! This means that if you want to educate everyone about a specific coating on a seat fabric is an issue – you’d put it here. If you want to draw everyone’s attention to a specific attribute within a product line (certain SKUs meet criteria but others do not) this is where you would note that.
- These Notes that “stick” to the product also show up in the Catalog when you look for products there. Remember – those notes are NOT seen by anyone outside your firm. Our platform is smart enough to know its you, and connects you with the notes!
