The “Project Details” tab is where much of the workflow happens with all collaborators! Coordination, Locations, CA, BoM, Documents, Spec Notes and Notes (general) are all found here.
1.) PROJECT DETAILS SECTION
COORDINATION: This includes Designation, Selected by, Approver, Status. Designations show if the product is a 1st choice, 2nd choice (acceptable alternative) or “Blocklist” (noncompliant, do not use, do not substitute). “Selected by” tells the team who made the decision in case of questions. Approver shows the team who is authorized to make a final decision and Status shows Pending, Denied, Approved.
LOCATIONS: This is where you can track building names or numbers as well as rooms in which the product is installed. With our Revit plugin (coming soon!) and our Marketplace/Global Buyer’s Club – this section and the Bill of Materials info will be auto-populated in the near future (if those are used by your team!).
CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION (CA): Coordination, Rep, Trade Partner and Status can be tracked here.
BILL OF MATERIALS (BoM): Unit cost & quantity can be filled in but this info can be automatically captured if you use BuildingEase’s free Procurement Marketplace & Global Buyer’s Club.)
DOCUMENTS: This is where you can upload and attach all documents related to this specific product so that everything is in one place! These can be SKs (sketches), MSDS sheets, pictures, etc., anything that you would want to find making product decisions or communicating with the client or project team.
SPEC NOTES: This section is for the specification writer to add a summary of their critical information that they want everyone to see. This is useful for ensuring that designers (many of whom don’t read the full spec) still see the critical information AND if your construction partner is invited to this Material List, they can create data sets to include in trade packages when inviting subs to bid on projects. This ensures they see more useful information all together – including the “blocklist” products which allows us to block unwanted substitutions (you can’t block those based on performance based spec language but you can block specific products!). Although we are trying to fully integrate the top spec tools, spec writers have said this will still be valuable for those reasons.
NOTES: These notes are visible to all invited collaborators, whether internal to your company or external team members! The Notes field in the Organizational section above this is for the exclusive use of your company and can not be seen by outsiders.

2.) COMMENTS & DISCUSSION THREADS: The Comment field here is a product-specific discussion thread that automatically time stamps each comment and attributes the comment to the author. This is the perfect place to have discussions about a specific product, either related to the client or project specific issues or to coordinate things like managing humidity control during installation. Every collaborator (internal or external) who is invited to this Material List can see and participate with these comments.
3.) RATINGS & REVIEWS are a great way to make sure manufacturers get your feedback! We encourage you to encourage your clients (especially facility managers!) to do this too! As you can see, your Reviews default to anonymous in our catalog unless you click the box that lets you opt in to sharing your name publicly. However, colleagues within your own company DO see your name so they can follow up if they have questions. Feedback can be about the durability, performance or similar – or can be about certifications that you wish the product had!
